  1. To remove copy protection from CARMEN.EXE in "Where in the World
  2. is Carmen Sandiego?" :

  4.    1.  Copy CARMEN.EXE and DEBUG.EXE into the same directory with
  5.        the files in this archive.
  6.  
  7.    2.  At the DOS prompt, type CAR-UNP <cr>.
  8.  
  9.        (<cr> designates 'carriage return' or 'enter' key)
  10.  
  11.    3.  You now have a new file named CARMEN1.EXE which can be
  12.        copied, run from the hard disk, or from any other drive
  13.        without the master disk in drive A.
  14.  
  15.    NOTE:  This unprotection scheme is distributed for use by
  16.    legitimate owners only, and is not intended to encourage
  17.    software piracy.  The "CARMEN SANDIEGO" games represent an
  18.    excellent educational/recreational new genre of software,
  19.    which should be encouraged by buying a legitimate copy.
  20.    However, legitimate owners should NOT be required to search
  21.    through a pile of floppies every time they want to play the
  22.    game.  (Why did I spend all this money on a hard disk,
  23.    anyway?)
